  1. The Book itself It took me a moment to write this review because, at first, I couldn t figure out what was bothering me It was a page turner from start to finish It had a Gone Girl type atmosphere, with a lot of twists and turns and was a decent little thriller HoweverCharacters I have never so actively disliked two characters before Ted is handsome, rich, and ripped Lily is beautiful, sultry, and mysterious Which is great for them because I could find nothing to like about either of these narci [...]

  2. First off, The Kind Worth Killing is a direct rip off of Patricia Highsmith s Strangers on a Train, so much that is could be considered outright plagiarism Peter Swanson even admits in the back of the book that Highsmith was his inspiration The only difference is that Highsmith s characters meet on a train, and Swanson s characters meet on a plane.Further, none of the characters in this book are likable or even believable Female serial killers are statistically rare, and they do it for a reason [...]

  3. I have to be honest here, when I invest in a fictional psychopath killer, I m rooting for her or him think Joe, think Dexter I want them to succeed.I became very invested with the one in The Kind Worth Killing.Ted Severson is a millionaire guy who recently learned his beautiful wife, Miranda is cheating with his new home building contractor He s at the airport awaiting his flight from London to Boston and feeling angry, hurt, and drowning his sorrows in his martini when he meets Lily Kintner.Aft [...]

  4. First things first Very much a page turner, with a massive plot twist around the middle Definitely keeps you guessing, the characters are well developed and the situations intriguing.Gone Girl or Basic Instinct are kissing cousins Are there good guys No, not really, except for the minor detective chapters And who cares It s a crime novel, largely written around one, reasonable sounding and self justifying, psychopath Very little gore, some sex Good, understated, ending. On the less than perfect s [...]

  5. I decided to try this one after seeing lots of people raving about it and I think this was why I felt a bit disappointed I d read too many excellent reviews and expected too much, whilst it was very good I wasn t blown away.Ted is drinking in an airport bar when a beautiful woman with long red hair introduces herself and they begin to chat Her name is Lily and they realise they are waiting for the same flight They get to talking which leads to Ted admits to wanting to kill his wife for something [...]

  6. I decided on four stars for this book as it was in my opinion a little slow to start with but when it gets going it really twists and turns In the end I actually think I felt sorrow for Lilly rather than hatred. This is my 1st book by Peter Swanson and as I enjoyed it I will look at his other titles
