  1. This story is Inspired by the life of Frances Fisher, a woman whose challenge in the late 1800 s was to save babies from the bacterial danger of raw milk Hattie is the fictional Frances and Czepiel does a wonderful job of making the story seem like a true biography From Hattie s post as a chemistry teacher to her increasingly right on intuition, she develops formulas for sterilizing milk that will change history. Her intuition and pragmatic approach to her mission is fascinating.

  2. Enjoyed this story In fact, enjoyed it too much I didn t want it to end On one level, I loved the way the story ended and on another, I was left wanting The story line was too good to end where it didso many questionsBut, I thought Kathy used her creative prowess to end it where she did Very well researched Loved the charactersshe describes her characters in ways that are easy to connect with Loved the detail in the scenes Kathy paints pictures and images that are easy to get drawn into I highly [...]

  3. Intuition is the second work I have read of this author with A Violet Season being the first In each, the author s efforts researching and developing the historical context put me in touch with the hard scrabble nature of what it took to get by in the late 19th century The authentic views of the past have stuck with me than other less researched and depicted historic fiction that I have read, and, in Intuition, serves as a solid backdrop to the psychological meandering of Hattie s thoughts regar [...]

  4. This important story of the origins of the pasteurized milk controversy in the 19th century is captured through the story of Hattie, an educated woman who had an idea turned it into a commitment Kathy Czepiel s characters are beautifully drawn and the plot is constructed so that the reader has a clear idea of what Hattie was capable of implementing I look forward to reading from this author whose ability to integrate fiction with history is important to both genres.

  5. Although this booklet was interesting, I would have appreciated substance It was read in about an hour Good, quick read.

  6. Kathy Leonard Czepiel introduces us to Hattie, an educated woman on a mission to save babies lives through science Hattie is ahead of her time in so many ways, but must accommodate the social s of her day in order to achieve her dream Czepiel again does what she is so good at bringing a slice of American history to life through the experiences of a character that we can t help but root for I also didn t want the story to end It was a great read
