  3. What an enjoyable read Beverly Jenkins gave this short story all the elements that were needed to make a reader not be able to put the book down The prologue alone will have you saying What the Heck And then to find that poor abandon Elizabeth is forced to marry a convicted man who was on his way to the hangman s noose in order to keep her sixty acres of farm land Yes there are some I didn t see that coming moments This story was short but oh so sweet and made you want Eve know there was a HEA

  4. This is my second read from this author and just like the first, it didn t disappoint I loved the throwback vernacular that you still fully knew what everything meant, and it wasn t stuffy or dry or boring at all And Elizabeth and Jordan were a great match, to me, with her innocence yet willingness and his patient experience It was even humorous at times.I need to get some of Ms Jenkins books.

  5. Beverly Jenkins is a master storyteller The characters in Prisoner of Love highlights Elizabeth s determination to survive and keep het land even though her husband William abandoned her Elizabeth took the risk of marrying Jordan Yancy Both of them worked to develop their relationship Both Elizabeth and Yancy were strong characters to admire Their love was obvious Love this story.

  6. Beverly Jenkins is my favorite author, especially her historical romance books. She has the ability to grab the readers attention, keep his or her attention throughout the book while educating the person at the same time I confess that I expected her to tie Jordan Yancy into a wealthy family that she had previously mentioned in one of her other books And, I was a little disappointed that the book didn t include Yancy taking Elizabeth to meet his family, as she desired But of course, that is the m [...]
