  1. When I started this book I loved it However, I am used to Charles Martin as a Christian author This was a little disappointing There were a lot of sexual references There were a few mild profanities but that did not bother as much as the very sexual content The book is also very wordy at times to the point I did some speed reading It is a good story but the writing is disappointing from someone who normally doesn t disappoint.

  2. I enjoyed Charles Martin s writings until this book I deleted it from my kindle library after paying full price Something has slipped There are curse words and what s worse, they weren t necessary They don t add dimension to the characters The sexual situations have become explicit and uncomfortable for me as a Christian I had so looked forward to reading this, but, cannot recommend He writes well and with insight, but the shift in what is now allowable replaced enjoyment with conscience that I [...]

  3. Third generation Texas Ranger Tyler Steele is the last of a dying breed a modern day cowboy hero living in a world that doesn t quite understand his powerful sense of right and wrong and instinct to defend those who can t defend themselves Despite his strong moral compass, Ty has trouble seeing his greatest weakness His hard outer shell, the one essential to his work, made him incapable of forging the emotional connection his wife Andie so desperately A beautiful way of saying how a man lives hi [...]

  4. I have to agree with both 5star and the low star reviews This was a great story but would have been better without all the sexual innuendos ,and crud conversation about animal parts, if you know what I mean Scripture was mentioned but it was far from a Christian story I found it on a Christian site as all Charles Martin books are found, but I believe this one didn t belong there As I said ,enjoyed the book but wish he would not stray sooooo far from his Christian roots.

  5. So I read a few reviews of your books on your web site Some write beautiful words, weaving the word of God with their own words of praise I admire their ability to be so eloquent My review may not bring such emotion to your heart yet I share my feelings willingly This is a love story Strong men who show emotion and women who are equally as strong, in the midst of storms that could destroy their faith in themselves and the ability to trust the kindness of strangers I enjoy all of Mr Charles Marti [...]

  6. Love, love, love Tyler s story Great characters and a journey of good and evil, after all thats what exists in the world Hurt, love, death, the bad guys and the good ones.Don t know that I ve ever enjoyed a story Mr Charles, writes so wonderfully that you almost feel like your right there on the journey with the characters like your part of it all Those are the kind you hate to come to the end of Charles Martin is a magnificent writer, he can capture you and take you into the adventure of the st [...]

  7. Parts of this story were extremely heartbreaking and difficult to read but overall, I found the plot to be uplifting and very emotional The main characters are realistically flawed and have made past mistakes but they re also funny, generous and incredibly courageous The story stealer is definitely Hope and all of her journal writing but Sam, Cowboy and Brodie are great characters too The ending is perfect and does the story justice because it gives an important message about not letting a painf [...]

  8. This is a bit of an old fashioned type story with actual GOOD GUYS and BAD GUYS reminiscent of the John Wayne movies If Jack Reacher were a cowboy, he would be a Tyler Steele It has a complex enough plot and sub plots so that it is not a simplistic timeline, but it is also not so complex that you need to suspend normal belief to allow all the moving parts to fit properly I enjoyed the fact that the author did not need to resort to gore, explicit sexual scenes, nor profanity to paint a picture I [...]

  9. I did enjoy this however it was somewhat predictable I guess I was spoiled by reading When Crickets Cry which would be hard to beat by anyones standards.I would still say that it is good and worth reading.
