  1. I really hate to write a bad review but sometimes the book deserves the punishment The Innocent starts off good and has me hooked for the first few chapters then the story gets confusing From the eight chapter to up to the 85% mark read Kindle there is no story It is the same information being repeated over and over and over again Robie works for a super secret agency with a lot of power, or so you re suppose to believe but obvious and simple detective investigating techniques weren t even used [...]

  2. I almost put this book down at the beginning I did not want to read a story about a hired assassin, especially one sanctioned by our Government But the story turned from that initial dark side to one when Will Robie, using his special skills, is fighting to save the life of an innocent 14 year old, feisty foster kid Somehow the bus explosion he saved them from appears to be related to his own botched last hit one he drew back from but one that occurred anyway with an unknown back up And now some [...]

  3. I would ve really like to give this book 5 stars Being a Baldacci fan I can say this book had all the Baldacci characteristics about it, complex characters, exciting plot, element of mystery, fast paced, thrilling with the desire to not want to put the book down I like Robbie He s a character morally defied at times and at will so you continue to have a love hate relationship with him What prompted me to give this book 4 it actually deserves 3.5 stars is because everything was great until the la [...]

  4. As an author, I like Baldacci s work to date I enjoyed The Camel Club, Zero Day and several others over the years Baldacci begins a new franchise with the Will Robie character and so I am inclined to let the author work out some early kinks here The plot gets better as the story evolves but most is revealed in the closing pages I think perhaps letting the reader discover a few clues along the way wouldn t have hurt To the discerning reader, several factors pop up that appear to need closer atten [...]

  5. Within about 15 minutes my husband and I turned off this book because the sound effects were utterly ridiculous The pew pew pew of a gun made us laugh and totally broke immersion into the story, and the music was too loud to add to the story and was distracting Additionally, Audible wouldn t let me return it and I couldn t figure out why So I m stuck with a ridiculously distracting audiobook that I won t listen to.

  6. This is my second go around with David Baldacci the first being The Forgotten and I have to say that I really enjoy his writing style He doesn t waste time with an over abundance of details and gives you enough to keep the story flowing at a good pace Don t get me wrong, details are good but I don t like saying to myself c mon already I liked that there were plenty of twists and turns to keep me guessing until the end For being a stone cold bad ass, Will Robie is a character with a heart and goo [...]

  7. The InnocentThe first in David Baldacci s series of books featuring character Will Robie Robie is an assassin working for a clandestine US government agency His role is to take out people who are viewed as being detrimental to America and its interests Officially he does not exist and if his missions fail the USA will not acknowledge him.Robie is tasked to enter the apartment of an American citizen and kill them Their crime is to have had links with a terrorist organisation committed to destroyi [...]

  8. I had only read one Baldacci book, ages ago The Christmas Train and couldn t remember his style, so approached it as a new Baldacci reader I really enjoyed the style of writing short sentences and chapter and found this to be a very unusual story about a government assassin who became embroiled in a plot that ended with 3 couples and numerous other people being killed He became involved with the 14 year old daughter of one of the slaughtered couples and her story becomes entwined with his , when [...]
