  1. This book is great for what it is A brief, practical handbook with common sense advice for those about to get another dog or those finding themselves a bit overwhelmed with their current dogs This would be a great book for professional trainers to give to clients as a supplement It is not in depth enough to provide information to an already well versed trainer looking for alternate options to common advice.

  2. Definitely helped me to figure out some body language and CONTROL my FOUR dogs A behavioral trainer suggested I buy this and it was well worth it A great book for information on how to avoid conflict between two or dogs. You have to start putting your mind in theirs and it helps you to understand how they think and what makes them react the way they do in certain situations Highly recommend this book.

  3. I know some people have not found this booklet helpful, especially if they have already had multiple dogs in their homes before But we are getting ready to add a second dog to our household for the first time, and this booklet really has helped us be better prepared to hit the ground running We are looking forward to having a second dog than ever now that we have some good ideas on how to introduce them successfully, how to feed them, how to let them play and break them apart if needed , and how [...]

  4. As a professional dog trainer I have given my clients with 2 our dogs this book for over 10 years Dog friendly and efficient.

  5. Just made a first pass, two days after yeah I know having adopted a second Great Pyrenees I d been doing something like body blocking I think instinctively with our first Pyr, but she s a 3 or 4 y o, and apparently much quicker to read human body language than our new almost 2 y o puppy He s been in and out of a couple different fosters, and his adoption attempts seem to have ended abruptly upon problems with barking in the house and being un walkable on the leash So we don t think this kind of [...]

  6. I have 3 dogs, 2 of which were getting into shuffles a lot, and one who had been SO BEHAVED before adding the third This book is really short, but had quick tips and some great paradigm shift that have fundamentally changed my approach to my pack No fighting in WEEKS, and my little rebel can be trusted off leash again.

  7. For a short read there was a lot of useful information to get some ideas on how to be outnumbered Although it won t answer all or problematic issues, it definitely gets you thinking creatively and gives good additional resources.

  8. This is a book you can read in a night, maybe two if you are still housetraining a puppy ask me how I know but it packs a lot of practical and manageable information into its small package There are no instant solutions for dog training Having a household of well behaved dogs is work in the same way that having a household of well behaved toddlers is work, so I think it s important for people to have reasonable expectations of what any book can offer on this topic But if you want to hit the grou [...]

  9. Easy to read alleviated a lot of my guilt feelings about walking all the dogs separately Great tips on training each dog individually first Would have liked a bit on issues on the walk such as one dog starting off barking at strangers and the rest then go into pack mode and join in, and also is it ok to leave them all alone together if you go out Otherwise a very useful and helpful book just wish I could download the DVD as I don t have a DVD player or laptop so it s a shame it can t be bought a [...]

  10. We have just introduced a rescue dog into our home, this book gave us valuable information of how to bring the new arrival into the family without a huge amount of problems.
