  1. I loved this book years ago and decided to read it again to see if I still felt the same way I do When 4 year old Lady Judith met 5 year old Francis Catherine at a festival held on the border between Scotland and England, they had no idea that their friendship wasn t supposed to happen For years afterward they would meet each summer at the games and it was if they had never been separated After they got older, Francis Catherine told Judith of her fear that she would someday die in childbirth lik [...]

  2. An audio review.I loved The Secret and after listening to it for the first time and re reading it for the 20 billionth time, I think I love it.Judith is a strong and feisty English woman whose best friend is a Scot When she s asked to attend her friends birthing of her first child, she does not hesitate to pack her bags.Ian is Laird and as a favour to his brother offers to collect the English woman Ian thinks his brother is daft giving in to his woman and scoffed at his devotion and need to make [...]

  3. When I was in high school 20 years ago , I really loved Julie Garwood books I guess I ve grown out of them because this one was so formulaic it bordered on boring I find that almost all romance books I read these days are ridiculous to me Here s the formula Take 1 tall, muscular, perfect looking manTake 1 small, beautiful womanmix in a little spirit and boldness for the womanmix in some chauvinistic I m here to protect you for the manThis creates a whole lot of lust at first sightalso required i [...]

  4. This book actually started with a bit of fun Two little girls who didn t know they should hate each other one being English and the other being Scottish become fast friends They nurture their friendship through the years making each other a promise to come in the time of need. When Judith begins her travels to Scotland with men sent to retrieve her to help her see her friend she starts falling in love with the chieftain Iain It s all possessive attitude, growling and arrogance galore I liked Judi [...]

  5. When Judith begins her travels to Scotland with the men sent to retrieve her to help her see her best friend she starts falling in love with the chieftain Iain Maclean. The friendship between the heroine and her best friend Frances Catherine was lovely. This read may not be historically accurate but I honestly don t care An enjoyable re read, I ll be picking up this book again in the future.

  6. I love a good historical romance, throw in Highlanders and I love it even I liked the main characters greatly, Judith had a feisty nature which added spice to a time where I imagine there weren t a lot of outspoken females.Really enjoyed the build up to the main characters getting together, then with the added mystery of Judith s heritage made a compelling story that delivered on all fronts.
