720 thought on “Junkyard Dogs: A Longmire Mystery (Walt Longmire Mysteries Book 6)

  1. This book is a well placed interlude from the five intense stories preceding it There s plenty of comedy here We get much of the kindhearted, good hud side of Walt Longmire as he deals with the aches and pains of the inevitable injuries from previous stories, the problems large and small of his staff, his daughter s impending wedding, and a colorful trailer trash family running the local junk yard. The underpinning of this book is the partnership between Longmire and Vic While acknowledging what [...]

  2. My favorite Walt Longmire quote or conversation in Junkyard Dogs is between his Doctor and himself What s up, Doc How s the knee I winced All right, till you started monkeying around with it He looked up at me, all the world the likeness of some venerated Caesar and just as forgiving The shotgun wound to your leg has healed moderately well Yep No lingering symptoms from pneumonia from drowning I didn t really drown His voice was sharp When you have to be resuscitated, you drowned Okay Take off y [...]

  3. Once again a great read You get wrapped up in the characters of the story, feeling like you really know each one You almost can feel that cold Wyoming wind blowing down your neck as you fight your way across open range land with two feet of snow on the ground As Craig Johnson describes each wound and blow you feel yourself touching the same places on yourself as you grimace with the pain, but you also thrill in Sheriff Longmire s successes You even get the feeling you know each of his friends an [...]

  4. Craig Johnson s Longmire series is comfortable to read He re uses the same basic characters in a manner that is not repetitive or boring His plots are never repetitive and have you rooting for the good guys and shivering when the bad guys get the upper hand The lay of the land should be familiar to those who have spent time in the Northwest High plains and mountains The mixtures of the Indian and White cultures should be well taken by those who live there If one is in a down mood and needs liter [...]

  5. Murders and other evil deeds abound in this sixth novel of the Sheriff Walt Longmire series It made me wonder if there are any peaceful folks living in Wyoming s sparsely populated Absaroka County Walt and his deputies are actively pursuing all leads to achieve justice and even Walt s dog, named Dog, gets into the act The dialogue in this book seems particularly excellent and it serves to give the reader a much better appreciation of the speaker s character For example, Henry Standing Bear, some [...]

  6. Another great book from Craig Johnson This is the second time I have read this book I definitely care what happens to them As usual there is humour in this story, some making you laugh out loud Our lead character Walt Longmire is an intelligent man has a very good friend in Henry Standing Bear who he has known since childhood Craig Johnson s descriptions,I find, are brilliant This story is set in a particularly cold February I can feel myself trudging through the deep snow, the snowflakes still [...]

  7. Walt gets called out to the local junkyard, Geo Stewart the owner of the junkyard is threatening to shoot his neighbour, he is a property developer and objects to having a junkyard next door to his multi million dollar development, not the first call Walt has had like this and it will not be the last, but this fight sets off a chain of events which lead to a convoluted tale involving drugs, body parts and that s the first fifty pages, this is also the funniest of the books so far, I laughed so m [...]
