  1. The fifth book of Daniel Silva s series featuring art restorer and Israeli avenger Gabriel Allon shows in small ways his growth as a writer In Prince of Fire, the technical aspects of the plot play second fiddle to the people side of the story, although the plot doesn t lack for suspense or mystery. The ongoing battle against Palestinian terrorism plays itself out on the battlefield of Allon s guilt over the loss of his son and the injury suffered by his wife Leah An incidental consequence of his [...]

  2. Daniel Silva has delivered great story based on some of the history of Israel True, his books are fiction but they are instructional on what the Jewish population has suffered throughput the ages However, as a fictional story, Price of Fire provides a exceptional tale of the master oil painting restorer and spy, Gabriel Allon I highly recommend this book, especially those have read about other adventures of the famous, Gabriel.

  3. Silva continues his intriguing story of operative Gabriel Allon and his efforts to defend his home state of Israel As an aging agent, his participation in the field is drawing to a close It appears that his career will move towards directing the operations of the secret agency This series has been well written, riveting and filled with unexpected twists and turns Maybe he will find peace in his art restoration Great read

  4. This is about on par with the other books in Gabriel Allon series by Daniel Silva that I ve read Generally it s well written The good guy characters are not what I would consider likeable, but in no way unlikable There are a couple of things wrong like it s slow paced and too much inconsequential filler material I rate books on 1 to 6 scale, so 3 stars is right in the middle.

  5. There are several mistakes in this and other books of this series But three of them in this book must be highlighted The Buenos Aires Jewush community AMIA was bombed on July 18, 1994, and not on April 18 It could never be on Saturday because AMIA closes on Shabat it was a Monday And there were 85 dead, not 87 as the author says This was the worst terrorist attack outside Israel against a Jewish target, at least until that year It is also interesting to note that the author does not mention a pr [...]

  6. Daniel Silva s Gabriel Allon is one of my favorite characterse Israeli James Bond I picture him as a cross between Sean Connery and Daniel Craig This book doesn t disappoint I am ready to read the next book If you like espionage, read this series in order.

  7. Daniel Silva tells a great story I traveled to Israel with a church group in February, 2020, and got home the week the pandemic locked us down The places he writes about brought back memories especially of the Golan Hts and the Sea of Galilee Israel is a beautiful place with a bloody and sad past, and it s not likely to ever be free of fighting and controversy, but it certainly gives Silva an interesting stage for his writing.

  8. The fifth in the series, every bit as enjoyable as the previous four We are introduced to some characters that appear in future books Unlike the previous one that dealt with the Holocaust, this one delves into Arab Israeli conflict and the history of the establishment of Israel, through the eyes of a Mosad agent yet keeps weaving a gripping adventure that can t be put down

  9. Another good read, this time a clever plot with some good twists which make it exciting A good page turner, good characters and well put together It brings up subjects which make you think as well as read, a thought provoking ending Would certainly recommend, although the you read the the characters mean all can be read as stand alone books.

  10. If you read any one of this series of books you ll immediately order as many as you can get ahold of They are excellent and informative as well as exciting, the writing is out of this world The hero puts 007 to shame.
